League Winners Hope to Fly Away with Another Championship
League winners and reigning Champions the Northern Hawks hope to fly away with another championship this weekend in the Men’s Supa-Liga A Grand-final against the formidable West Coast Cobras. An undefeated season for the Northern Hawks has put them in a good position heading into the final with an air of confidence.

On this weekend’s clash, Player/Coach Chez Houston has said “if everyone turns up prepared on the day then I have no doubt we can win it.” Though Houston is confident his team can take out the title he warns against over confidence, going on to say “that being said, we know the Cobras have some dangerous players and are not to be taken lightly. As long as we don’t walk into the game thinking we have already won, since we are currently undefeated, then we have a good chance.”
Northern Hawks player and this season’s golden boot winner Tom Ellis has backed up Houston’s sentiment of cautious confidence stating, “as the competition is growing, so to is the level of the teams, and Cobras as we have found out are a huge threat to anyone.” When asked about the Hawks approach to this weekend’s Grand-final Ellis said, “We just need to play the way we’ve been playing and do what we need to do to get the job done.”
With a breadth of experience in players like Chez Houston, Tom Ellis, Devon Rindel and Shirash Sasikumar, in combination with having one of Supa-Liga’s best goal keeper’s, Daniel Formato who is in high contention for this seasons golden gloves award, it’s not hard to imagine the potential for the Northern Hawks to walk away with both league and championship wins under their belt for this 2021 winter season of the MSLA.
